  • Lara Baker Vet

    Dr Lara Baker

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BVetMed PGCertVBM MRCVS

    Lara has been a vet for over 13 years, qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College. She has a wealth of experience in general practice, having worked in several small animal practices in and around London over the last decade, having initially started with some larger patients. She has a particular interest in all things general practice and a particular interest in neurology. When Lara isn’t working, she spends time walking her two dogs, Navy and Zephyr and is also a fitness instructor. She hopes to qualify soon as a personal trainer and loves various forms of fitness.

    Alison has been with us since 2004 and has a particular interest in breed-related diseases in pedigree dogs. She researches and advises on these issues from home but still enjoys hands-on veterinary work. In her own time, she loves spending time with her grown-up family and pets.

    Joanna has been a vet since 2010 and has worked in a variety of locations in the private and charity sector both in Europe and the UK. Joanna is now settled in Surrey with her young family. 

    Joanna enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and soft tissue surgery.

    Beth started nursing in 2000 and joined the Alfold Vets team in 2009. In 2021, she became the Practice Manager. She and her husband have three teenage children and a large, daft dog called Roxy. She enjoys spending time with her family and wild swimming in her spare time.

    Lezanne Denton

    Veterinary Nurse & Head Receptionist

    Lezanne joined Alfold Vets in 2004 and helped to build the practice into the successful establishment it is today.  She has a son and two Jack Russell terriers and enjoys playing field hockey and football. She can often be found cheering on the Chelsea ladies team.

    Helen Gaines

    Nursing Manager

    CertAVN, RVN, CCBW Dip(Hydro)

    Helen has been nursing since 1998 and joined Alfold Vets in 2016. She is a qualified small animal hydrotherapist with certificates in veterinary dentistry, physiotherapy and canine bodywork. She has just completed her Graduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Anaesthesia and Analgesia) with the Royal Veterinary College. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, mountain biking and walking her three dogs, Basil, Bruce & Ted.

    Helen Stewart

    Helen qualified in 2001 and joined our team in 2017. She has a special interest in reproduction, breeding, emergency, and critical care, and she holds a certificate in pregnancy ultrasound. She has just completed her Graduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Anaesthesia and Analgesia) through the Royal Veterinary College. She is married with two children and has a border terrier and a cat at home. She also enjoys running, swimming, horse riding and walking her dogs.

    Yvette Breacher

    Yvette worked in a referral practice before joining our team in 2009. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia and exotics and is also studying for her Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Clinical Nursing and Client Support) through Hartbury University. She lives in Surrey with her partner and two young boys, their Staffordshire bull terrier and tortoise. Outside work, she enjoys tending to her garden, walking with her family and occasional rock climbing.

    Robyn Reed

    Robyn joined Alfold Vets in 2021, having previously worked at an orthopaedic and neurology referral practice for many years. She has a keen interest in radiology, nursing in- patients and puppy care. She also has a big soft spot for dachshunds and staffies. Robyn is mum to her little boy Lex, and in her spare time, she volunteers as a guide leader, takes photographs of pets and wildlife and walks her dog, Betsy.

    Ella Robertson

    Student Veterinary Nurse

    Having begun as a Kennel Assistant at Alfold Vets whilst studying for her Diploma in Animal Management at Brinsbury College, Ella is now a full-time Student Veterinary Nurse studying for her Vet Skill Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Companion Animal) through MYF Learning under the guidance of her experienced colleagues. She teaches gymnastics to primary school children in her spare time and is also the proud owner of two fox-red labradors called Goldie and Teddy.

    Receptionist

    Clare worked in several other veterinary practices in the local area before joining our team in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dog Whizz in and around the Cranleigh area.

    Heidi Lang

    Receptionist

    Heidi joined us in 2021, having previously worked in marketing and communications in a number of industries including sport, the Prison Service, education and the arts. She thoroughly enjoys meeting people and dogs, which is what attracted her to the role. She is the proud mum of one, and former owner of a legendary springer spaniel - currently on the look out for a replacement!

    Receptionist

    Linda has worked at Alfold Vets for the last two years as part of our reception team. Linda was a dental nurse for many years before moving on to become a dental receptionist. She raised two wonderful children, one of whom is a veterinary nurse right here at Alfold, which means she has plenty of experience with animals of all descriptions.
